Carry out greenhouse gas verification (ISO 14064-1)
Introduction
ISO 14064-1:2018 "Greenhouse Gases - Part 1: Quantification and Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Removals at the Organization Level" is a core standard for organization-level carbon accounting issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It replaces the 2006 first edition and undergoes technical revisions, providing a unified methodology framework for the establishment, quantification, reporting, and verification of an organization's greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory.
This standard emphasizes defining the organizational boundaries based on the control rights method or the equity ratio method, clearly distinguishing between direct emissions (category one), indirect emissions from purchased energy (category two), and indirect emissions from the value chain (categories three to six), providing a compliance basis for carbon information disclosure, supply chain management, and the formulation of low-carbon strategies.
The ISO 14064-1 organization's greenhouse gas verification procedure consists of the following steps:
Review the application, conduct evaluation, sign the contract, perform strategic analysis, conduct risk assessment, formulate the verification plan, evidence collection plan, on-site verification, re-examination and assessment, make a decision and issue the verification statement.
